Praised for her dramatic intensity, Canadian soprano Alexandra Wiebe performs with equal facility and passion on operatic and recital stages. She is currently pursuing her Master of Music in Opera Studies at the New England Conservatory under soprano Jane Eaglen. This past season she was a Young Artist with Mousaverse Opera in their inaugural season, singing Naiad in Ariadne auf Naxos and performing in their Young Artist Recital Series. Other recent roles include Mother (Amahl and the Night Visitors), Mimì (La bohème), Contessa Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro), Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), and Lady Billows (Albert Herring). Alexandra has been an artist with the Highlands Opera Studio, Sewanee Summer Music Festival, Vienna Summer Music Festival, Premiere Opera Vocal Arts Institute, Chicago Summer Opera, and Russian Opera Workshop. She has been recognized by the Carolyn Bailey Argento Vocal Competition, The American Prize in Voice, the Musicians Club of Women, the Nouvelles Étoiles Competition, the Music International Grand Prix Competition, and the National Association of Teachers of Singing. Alexandra completed her Bachelor of Music in Voice and Opera Performance under Theresa Brancaccio at Northwestern University’s Bienen School of Music. In addition to maintaining an active performance schedule, Alexandra is passionate about voice science and serves as a data analyst to a team studying the intersection of voice use and technology at Northwestern University.
