American Voices - Cancelled

Company:
Rhode Island Civic Chorale and Orchestra

Born at the beginning of the 20thCentury, Aaron Copland (1900-1990) and Samuel Barber (1910-1981) were essential in defining an “American voice” in a music scene dominated by European powers. Their music is paired with that of two living composers – Martin Sedek (b. 1985) and Jocelyn Hagen (b. 1980) – who have each taken this unique American sound and blended it into their own compositions, showing that the integrity of American music is still alive and thriving today.
