“I Got Rhythm” is a lively program of songs and stories highlighting the dynamic musical duo that created dozens of classic song hits throughout the 1920’s and 1930’s, George and Ira Gershwin. John Murelle and pianist Chris Morris will share the excitement that George and Ira generated with their songs both on Broadway and in the films of Hollywood. Learn more.

Baritone John Murelle is a versatile singer with a wide range of musical interests, including art song, opera and oratorio, Broadway and popular songs. He holds Vocal Performance degrees from the University of Michigan and the Boston Conservatory, and a Diploma from the Boston University Opera Institute. John Murelle has appeared as a soloist with the Chatham and Falmouth Chorales, the Cape Cod Chorale, Pilgrim Pops as well as the Woods Hole Cantata Singers. John Murelle’s keen interest in song literature has earned him accolades as a concert singer. His diverse programs include song cycles of Beethoven, Head, Fauré, Quilter, Ravel, Schubert, Schumann and Vaughan Williams, and highly acclaimed theme recitals including The Way You Look Tonight, The Songs of Jerome Kern, With A Song In My Heart, The Songs of Rodgers and Hart, You’re The Top! The Songs of Cole Porter, Nice Work If You Can Get It, The Songs of George and Ira Gershwin, Let Yourself Go! The Songs of Irving Berlin, and Cuban Passion, The Songs Of Ernesto Lecuona, If I Loved You, The Great Love Duets & A Song for Two, vocal chamber duets with soprano Joan Kirchner and In a Sentimental Mood, The Songs of Duke Ellington with pianist William Merrill and That’s Amore, popular songs of Italy with the John Salerno Trio.

In great demand as a voice teacher, John has a private studio in East Sandwich. His students regularly receive scholarships at recognized music schools throughout the U.S.
