The Intimate Bach

Blue Hill Bach

Join Blue Hill Bach as they launch their 2021 festival and celebrate the beautiful harpsichord recently bequeathed to them by the estate of the distinguished musicologist Virginia Newes, a medieval specialist who taught music history and musicology at New England Conservatory of Music, Boston University, and the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY. The single manual Flemish-style harpsichord was built by Willard Martin in 1977 and originally owned by Blue Hill Bach’s festival music director John Finney and noted organist James David Christie. Join us for an intimate concert and the inauguration of this beautiful instrument. Featuring John Finney on harpsichord and soprano Nola Richardson.
