Musica Nova

Convivium Musicum explores over a century of music-making in Venice in Musica Nova. From the installation of Adrian Willaert as maestro di cappella at the Basilica of St. Mark to the last gasps of the stile antico, well-known composers like Andrea and Giovanni Gabrieli, Claudio Monteverdi, and Cipriano de Rore were active in the city.
