On April 27 at 8 p.m. in Boston’s Emmanuel Church, Emmanuel Music presents Bach and Harbison, a concert that reflects the joy and sorrow of the Easter season with a powerful program featuring two masterpieces created nearly 300 years apart but linked by a single seminal event – the discovery of Jesus’ empty tomb. In addition to Bach’s glorious Easter Oratorio and John Harbison’s The Supper at Emmaus, the program includes the U.S. premiere of the reorchestration of another Harbison work that addresses our need for tolerance, inclusion, and reconciliation, Abraham.
