Ralph Vaughan Williams' one-act opera Riders to the Sea and an innovative staging of his song cycle Songs of Travel.

The opera and song cycle are directed by Rachel Hanauer, assistant directed by Jeff Blanchette and music-directed and performed by Nathaniel Baker on piano.

Riders to the Sea is a short opera based on the play by J. Synge. It poetically dramatizes an Irish story about a family finding themselves up against the unbeatable forces of the sea.

Performed by Kate Norigian, soprano (Cathleen), Rachel Hanauer, soprano (Nora), Julie Rumbold, mezzo-soprano (Maurya), Nicholas Tocci, baritone (Bartley), Felicia Baker, soprano (Woman) and features an SSAA women's chorus. Songs of Travel is a song cycle with poems by Robert Lewis Stevenson about the life, love, freedom, and emotions of a vagabond.
