Viable / Baby Book: Poetry & Music

Please get cozy with your favorite drink and food and join us for a lunchtime poetry reading & music celebration of Chloe Yelena Miller's debut full-length collection "Viable."
Chloe will share her story and read from "Viable." Six soprano-pianist teams will present musical settings of Chloe's poetry in Lauren Spavelko's song cycle "Baby Book." Many of our performers will also be in attendance!
Afterward, we'll have a discussion and Q&A with the author, composer, and our performers. You are more than welcome to post questions and chat with us as we go as well!
Signed copies of "Viable" and the musical score for "Baby Book" will be available for purchase after this event.

ABOUT VIABLE:
"Viable," by Chloe Yelena Miller, from Lily Poetry Review Books (2021), is memoir in verse. The book follows a mother through a miscarriage, difficult pregnancy, and postpartum depression. The poems lean on Italian and English grammar and vocabulary, recipes and the natural world. Grief and physical pain follow the mother through the pregnancy, Caesarean section, recovery and early parenthood. She learns to navigate her new body and emotions as well as the growing relationship with her child.
