Theory and Sight-Singing Workshops

Dr. Bill Cutter, Director of Choral Programs at M.I.T. and former assistant to Tanglewood Festival Chorus Director John Oliver, returns for another two-part sight-singing experience. 

The morning workshop will review music theory basics, focusing on those that are most helpful for singers. After a lunch break the sight-singing workshop will begin, including lots of participation and advice on how to sight-read quickly and accurately. Singers of all levels and backgrounds are welcome, and are invited to register for one or both workshops on April 4. 

Schedule: 

10:00-12:00: Music Theory Boot Camp

12:00-12:45: Lunch break (option for catered lunch from Dudley Cafe)

12:45-2:45: Sight-singing Workshop

 

Fees:

Individual workshop fees: $10/BSR members, $20/non-members

Combined workshops fee: $15/BSR members, $35/non-members

Catered lunch option: $10 (choice of Chicken Caesar or Vegetarian Hummus wrap)

The questions about proficiency are new this year, included so that we can customize the content of the workshop to the experience of the participants. This information will not be shared or used to screen applicants.
