Programs and Events

BSR Open Auditions: Open Auditions are combined-company general auditions for regional classical singers and vocal organization leaders. BSR hosts two auditions each year, including a Select Showcase every other year. Paid membership is required to sing in the auditions. Open Auditions provide a chance for regional vocal organizations leaders to screen New England talent for upcoming projects and for singers to receive feedback from panelists on their audition.

BSR Workshops: Workshops on topics of artistic and career development are offered periodically by BSR. Previous topics have included audition technique, crossover work, website creation, and tax advice. Workshops are open to both members and non-members.

BSR Recital Series: The BSR recital series was created in 2011 as a means to further promote BSR regional singers as well as raise funds for BSR and the Boston Singers' Relief Fund. Singers interested in being a part of the series may submit resumes along with their art song based programs for consideration to info@BostonSingersResource.org

BSR No Stress Studio: Practice performing in a friendly, low-stakes environment. Whether you're looking for more experience singing in front of people, a chance to try out a piece with a pianist, an opportunity to become familiar with more vocal repertoire, or a fun way to connect with the local singing community, this is the place for you.

FUSE: Collaborations in Song: In collaboration with Catalyst New Music, BSR is launching a brand new song-development program which organizes teams of poets, composers and singers to create new song repertoire in which all three artists are involved from the beginning of the process. FUSE culminates in a recital of world premieres with singers performing new songs that are tailor-made for their voice and interests.

Boston Singers' Relief Fund: The BSRF provides emergency financial relief in a confidential, respectful manner to those in the singing community who have contributed significantly to the artistic life of New England and are facing job loss, illness or other catastrophic life events.
