Katherine Beckvold

Katherine Beckvold, soprano, graduated from Boston University (MM) and Boston Conservatory (BM), where she received her degrees in Vocal Performance. In addition to teaching music, she is a Certified Teacher of the Alexander Technique and a member of Alexander Technique Inernational.

Katherine is based in Abington, MA, where she teaches lessons, is the Vocal Coach for the Abington High School Drama Program and Music Director/Choreographer for the Middle Drama Program. Katherine is also the Music Director for St. Michael's Episcopal Church's Children's Choir in Milton.

This year, she has performed the roles of Queen of the Night and Papagena at Bay View Music Festival. Recently, she has performed the roles of Mademoiselle Silverspeal (The Impresario, Mozart) with Opera New Hampshire, Phyllis (Iolanthe, G&S) with College Light Opera and Alcina (Title of the Show, Händel) with Red River Lyric Opera. Within the last year, she has won third place in the Opera Idol Competition with Opera New Hampshire, was a Regional Finalist in the Talents of the World Competition and was a Semifinalist, from the Emerging Professional Artists Division, in the Classical Singer Competition.
