Keeping the voices of New England Strong
Founded in 2009 by Murray Kidd, the Boston Singers' Relief Fund (BSRF) provides financial relief in a confidential, respectful manner to those in the singing community who are experiencing financial hardship due to an unexpected loss of singing income resulting from illness, catastrophic acts of nature, or other unforeseen events. The BSRF recognizes the essential value of singers to society and culture and treats all applicants with dignity, discretion, and compassion. The Fund has awarded more than $10,000 in grants since the first applications were accepted in 2011.
How can BSRF help you?
To be eligible for BSRF funds, you must be a New England-based singer experiencing a financial hardship due to an unexpected loss of performance revenue. You do not need to be a member of Boston Singers' Resource to be eligible for BSRF funds. The total grant amount, which currently ranges between $100–500, will not exceed the total amount lost and is dependent upon available funds and number of applicants per year. We hope to increase these amounts as the BSRF grows. The funds may be spent in any way you see fit to support your personal, professional, musical, or family life. One person may apply up to twice per calendar year.
How to apply
To apply for BSRF funds, please complete the online application; if you prefer a PDF version, you can download one and email the completed application to info@bostonsingersresource.org. BSRF committee members are not eligible to apply.
Grant Schedule
Applications will be considered on a quarterly basis:
January 1 – March 31
April 1 – June 30
July 1 – September 30
October 1 – December 31
The committee will meet after the close of each quarter to review applications and process grants.

The Boston Singers' Relief Fund is a program that operates independently under the fiscal sponsorship of Boston Singers' Resource, which is a fully incorporated 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. All donations are tax deductible.
