Marilyn Whipple

Marilyn Whipple has been a pianist and musical director in the Boston community for more than 30 years, serving as MD/pianist/conductor for a large variety of Musical Theatre productions, including Sweeney Todd, Into the Woods, Les Miserables, Hairspray, Seussical the Musical, The Secret Garden, Children of Eden, Side Show, Mame, Grease (four times!), Godspell, Carousel and many more. In addition to her work as an MD, she frequently plays piano/keyboard for productions around the Greater Boston region. She has directed numerous cabarets and revues, served as audition accompanist for a wide range of theatres and provide audition coaching. She is comfortable accompanying singers, instrumentalists and choruses in all musical styles.

Marilyn was trained as a classical pianist and am comfortable with a variety of repertoire. While at Emerson College, she had the great fortune to study with Anthony Tommasini, currently the chief music critic at the New York Times and a brilliant pianist and teacher.
