Blue Hill Bach 2024 Summer Festival

Company:
Blue Hill Bach

Please join the soloists, chorus, and orchestra of Blue Hill Bach for our 14th season! This year's offerings include sumptuous music by Henry Purcell for the Baroque Café including his 1694 ode to celebrate Queen Mary's birthday, Come Ye Sons of Art, along with selections from King Arthur and The Fairy Queen, an intriguing survey of rarely-performed music by women composers from the Renaissance and Baroque eras including Settimia Caccini, Barbara Strozzi, and Elisabeth Jacquet de la Guerre, and Bach's profound depiction of Christ's betrayal and crucifixion, the Passion According to St. Matthew.
