Cantilena - a women’s chorale invites you to join us (remotely) for:
"Fire in the Garden: choral music about climate change”
Live Streaming at 8:00 pm EST, Sunday, December 12, 2021
On Line On-Demand through January 12, 2022
Cantilena, a women's chorale based in Arlington, MA will be live-streaming the premiere performance of the ensemble's Giselle Wyers' 2020 commission "Fire in the Garden: a Climate Change Trilogy" as part of their December 12th virtual concert. Wyers pairs her powerful composition with the moving words of women climate activists and thinkers such as Greta Thunberg, Denise Levertov, Barbara Deming, and Hildegard von Bingen.
Allegra Martin directs the Women of Cantilena for this commissioned premiere and additional reflections of our fragile planet, including works by Moira Smiley, Nancy Telfer, Joan Szymko, Sarah Quartel, and others. Collaborative pianist Kelvyn Koning deftly accompanies the chorus.
