I Am A Dreamer Who No Longer Dreams

White Snake Projects

I Am Dreamer Who No Longer Dreams explores the lives of two immigrant women in the context of the current social crisis in our society: immigration. Rosa is a Mexican Dreamer, and her Court-appointed attorney is Singa, a documented immigrant from Indonesia of Chinese descent. At first, the women view each other with suspicion, but they soon realize they share more similarities than differences. As Rosa’s trial progresses, the two women must make a heart-wrenching decision that will change both their lives forever.

As a special prologue to the opera, we will be presenting a short series of songs created by immigrant writers and composers about the immigrant experience from our community-based project, SING OUT STRONG: Immigrant Voices.
