Raise You Up
Company: Boston Gay Men’s Chorus
With special guest singer, rapper, actor, director, choreographer, and YouTube personality, Todrick Hall.
In Act I we present “Seven Last Words of the Unarmed” which uses the last words of seven African-American men–each killed by police or by authority figures–in a powerful multi-movement choral work by Atlanta-based composer Joel Thompson. The 15-minute piece ends with a stirring rendition of Glory.
In Act II put on your dancing boots as we sing a selection of music from Kinky Boots.
Reuben M. Reynolds III, Music Director
